Medicare levy surchange applicable if i have overseas insurance with international cover?
i am new resident of Australia, and from singapore.
i joined in local Health fund after 6 months, but, before i was covered by Singapore health insurance with hospital cover internationally.
now. its tax time, is Medicare levy surchange applicable if i have Singapore overseas insurance with international cover?
please help. thanks

I might be wrong, but I think - they need to be registered insurers under a certain Act.... and and an overseas one is more likely than not is not a registered insurer. Check out these links:-
